My Students
It is a blessing to walk into classrooms and see eager smiling faces. I work at a Title I school in Virginia that is predominately African American. Every child receives free breakfast and lunch. The challenges that some of the students face at home are unimaginable for adults to comprehend. Every year, at least half of the students have experienced some type of trauma during the course of their lives. However, they are very courageous young people who persevere through the many challenges and traumas that they have experienced in their lives.
Despite all of the negativity that may be in their lives, they continue to come to school every day and learn.
They are eager to learn and enthusiastic about the possibilities of the school year.
The possibilities for my students are endless. It is my job to get them closer to their dreams and aspirations. They are truly amazing young people with bright futures.
My Project
As we embrace the world of virtual learning, I want to ensure that I can present mathematical concepts to my students in a way that meet their individual learning styles. It is important that I have lots of magnetic manipulatives and a magnetic white board easel. My students tend to be visual learners and I need the resources at home to teach virtually.
The magnetic white board easel, dry erase markers and magnetic math materials will make virtual learning effective and fun.
It is imperative that I am able to keep my students engaged using a variety of resources. Learning at home is possible and I will do everything in my power to ensure they learn.
