My Students
Back to School is traditionally a time when teachers are eagerly preparing kid friendly and engaging classrooms for a new group of scholars. 2020 however has been everything but traditional. Instead of eagerly preparing a physical classroom, many teachers are now required to prepare kid friendly and engaging virtual classrooms.
Until I am physically able to welcome the Class of 2033, I am still responsible for creating an engaging classroom.
And while it will be challenging, that's what I plan to do! I want them to be excited about playing games in their virtual classroom while learning basic computer skills.
My school is located on the multicultural West Side of Cleveland.
My Project
My district has been preparing for remote learning all summer. They have partnered with empowerCLE+ in order to provide affordable internet access. Furthermore, each scholar has been or will be receiving a tablet or laptop before school begins.
In order to create an engaging virtual classroom, I need access to virtual learning games.
Thankfully, Teachers Pay Teachers is stocked with Google Slides and Google Drive Literacy and Math activities. I would like for my scholars to be able to access educational games that will engage as well as challenge them independently.
