Help me give my students immediate assistance and feedback during virtual learning by delivering information through lessons on this second monitor that I am requesting while still insuring attentiveness by viewing my students' faces/cameras on my current monitor.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a special education teacher and I teach at a public K-8 magnet school in south Florida. My students are in general education classes with their general education peers and make amazing progress each year. All students also study a world language daily as part of our magnet curriculum. Most of my students have been at my school since kindergarten. We become their family away from home.
My students are determined to reach their full potential by working hard, asking questions, and striving for excellence.
My students come to school with tenacity wanting to learn. I expect this same drive even though my students will be starting the year virtually. However, I feel that because we are starting the year virtually this will cause some uneasy feelings. I want to make this situation the best possible so that students have a positive learning experience no matter the distance between us.
My Project
My students will benefit by having access to fluid comprehensible lessons delivered effectively as if we were together in the physical classroom.
The LED monitor and webcam are going to assist my students and I so that I can conduct live virtual classes and record video messages and lessons that students may refer to assisting them with their online courses during this unprecedented school year.
The LED monitor will serve as a second monitor so that I may have multiple windows open simultaneously to teach effectively during live sessions with my students. Being able to see my students on my existing monitor and having my notes, chat, question forum, etc. on the second monitor will assist with classroom management and making our live time together the best that it can be during this unusual school year.
