My students enjoy learning through music, games, and various other interactions. They attend school in a low economic area and I want them to be able to receive the same opportunities as their counterparts. I’m moving from an in class to a virtual learning environment and would like my students to have access to technology.
This project is for me to be able to interact with my students of my classroom to promote academic success. Three of my students are unable to participate in class activities via zoom or other learning platforms due to the lack of technology. I need to be able to reach my students daily to assist in transitioning from a classroom environment to a virtual platform. Many of my students do not have access to technology, but are able to use their parent’s technology from their jobs. This donation will benefit these students tremendously from having the tools they need to be equipped for our daily Virtual lessons. Currently, in class, we are using Study Island which allows me to plan activities and assignments for my students. Children can interact and answer questions in game mode with their classmates. We also host two zoom sessions per week where I teach a lesson. Unfortunately, those who do not have access miss out on these interactive activities. My goal is to make each student feel included and bring back joy into their learning. I have not heard from these students since we have been out and it will bring comfort to know that they’re ok via technology that I provided for them.
