My Students

Being a title one teacher is hard, but being a student is a title one school is even harder. Many of these students and their families cannot afford the basic school needs like pencils and paper due to financial constraints. For many of my students school is their safe place; where they got a hot meal, where they are around people who care about them, and where they learn how to be functional citizens.

Our county just released a new science curriciulum that incorporates interactive notebooks and laptop technology.

However, many of these virtual labs and online activities are challenging to work on with 24 students all listening to directions out loud. We are in dire need of headphones. It will allow the kids to block out the surrounding distractions during this time as well as be able to focus in on the content of the virtual lab/activity.

My Project

Many of my students cannot find the means to get the basic school supplies like pencils and paper. Our county just came out with a new science curriciulum that incorporates a lot of technology via Adaptive Curriculum, CPalms Tutorials, and many more digital based labs and activities. However, many students do not have headphones to listen to the directions and information causing a mess of sound when I have 24 students trying to listen to the same activity at different parts at once. By having headphones it would allow students to focus better and get the information they need without being distracted!
