My Project

Students in sixth grade are eager to learn about the world around them. Due to COVID-19, field trips that allow students to learn and explore outside the four walls of our classroom have become increasingly difficult to attend. Luckily, there are many virtual field trips and 360 virtual reality experiences that allow students to explore the world from our classroom.

iPads allow for amazing virtual field trips and virtual reality activities as they allow students to maneuver through a virtual landscape for an immersive experience.

Students will have access to locations they would likely not be able to visit otherwise. The Great Pyramids of Egypt, the Liberty Bell, the Great Barrier Reef, and the Florida Everglades are all unique locations students will visit to help our science and social studies content come alive.

Students will collaborate with one other to complete scavenger hunts, create guided tours, and write personal narratives while on their virtual field trips. These iPads will be carefully handled by students and each student will go through a training session focused on proper iPad care and use. The protective cases also funded by this project will be another way I ensure the iPads stay in good condition for many years.
