Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every year I plan a virtual field trip to Disney for my students. I incorporate lessons in Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies in a virtual field trip. The items I am requesting will help them visualize being in the parks and experiencing the rides, the smells, the snacks, the whole experience becomes real with your support.

For our reading lesson, we will read an article about Walt Disney, and then watch a POV video for the attraction "One Man's Dream." This experience also ties in with our Social Studies lesson about how Walt Disney is considered a Famous Floridian who has contributed to Florida's economy and how Disney World in general contributes to our economy every year.

Our math lesson is a budgeting lesson to explore finances, students are given a menu where they can purchase snacks but have to stay within a budget.

Our science lessons explore how Imagineers design rides using the scientific process. We then come up with plans for our own rides.

Our final project and a new addition I came up with this year is for them to use Canva to design a souvenir drawstring bag and using a Cricut and a heat press we will make it and they will get to take it home!
