Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This year I have the youngest group of students, they are in the Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten grade level. My students are part of a Special Day Class in a TK-6 STEM School. This means that my students are spending more than half their school days within my class.
My students are not only receiving effective interventions to address their disabilities like Autism, Other Health Impairment, Speech or Language Impairment, buy they will also have opportunities to participate in hands-on learning.
My students are also learning how to self-advocate for their needs, self-regulate with The Zones of Regulation, and learn how to become leaders with the 7 Habits of Happy Kids by Sean Covey.
My Project
The Coronavirus Pandemic has impacted many aspects of our teaching and learning, including my students and mine.
By helping me fund this project, my students will be able to have new opportunities to engage with their online distance learning.
Having these resources available will allow to create a virtual classroom where my students can see me teach using a white board.
I will be able to create new anchor charts to help address their Individualized Education Program goals, and to address new learning expectations like how to participate during video conferences.
This project will also allow me to print resources and scan documents to parents to ensure that my students continue to move forward with their learning during these hard times.
