My Students

My students are among the most resilient, most deserving, most inspiring young people in Seattle. Recent school closures are hitting them especially hard. This week our school community is working to make sure basic needs are met: food, healthcare, emotional support, and on and on. Regular outreach is important to ensure they feel connected. My Project

Interagency students are thirsty for history that reflects the experiences of their families, their ancestors, their many and varied cultures. And they deserve an unabridged and unflinching narrative. A history that honors the work and sacrifices of all lives that have shaped this country. A history that grapples with the innate tensions of a nation whose democratic ideals often conflict with the reality of horrific actions. A history that celebrates the struggles, the resistance, and the rebellions all people.

I'm organizing a virtual book club to engage my students in active reading and discussion during our shutdown.

It's vital we maintain socially (albeit, distantly) connected. Please support their learning and credit-earning.
