My Students

I am currently a third-grade teacher to amazing students in a low-income community. I have the same students from last year because I was given the opportunity to loop with them. I am so thankful for that. We are having a fabulous year. Aside from being in the Class Champions and Coyotes Reading program, they are students that strive to be their best selves each day.

My students set high standards for themselves and push themselves to be their very best each day.

We are an extremely close classroom with much to celebrate.

My Project

During the months of January through March we prepare our students for District and State tests. This can be a very stressful time for teachers as well as students. Through art we can destress and enjoy a relaxation afternoon after working on test preparation. Our school has been virtual this entire year and our students are needing activities to inspire and motivate their time spent online.

Students will receive watercolor materials and books to use during our virtual recess.

Together, we will learn to mix colors that will instill joy, serenity, and peace. They will continue to be part of our community and partake in these art activities. My students are a positive group of kids that have overcome obstacles our community has faced. Having these art supplies will continue to strengthen our classroom. I love how my students are positive and support one another in our classroom. I feel that doing art as a class would bring out the best in them and make our virtual classroom continue to feel like family.
