This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Calling first grade students to a small group can be daunting to a student who prefers to do an independent or whole group project. Students don't want to miss out on the independent activity.
Having a magnetic easel would give students who need help with letter sounds to practice with magnetic letters.
Students can put sounds together and take them apart. It would also help in Math using place value magnetic tools for ones, tens and hundreds as well as counting magnetic coins. Having fun, comfy yoga balls to sit on would entice students to want to sit in a small group. With these two items small group would become the preferred activity. Hence, students would feel special...like a VIP when coming to a small group session.
