Vinyl vs Screen vs Sublimation Printing and Heat Transfer
Help me give my students the ability to have a hands on learning experience to discover the pros and cons of heat transfer vinyl, screen printing and sublimation printing on various products/substrates.
The goal for this project is for students to see the pros and cons of each process (vinyl, screen printing and sublimation printing) to create different products/substrates. Currently my students only have access to the heat transfer vinyl and using an iron the transfer it onto various products/substrates.
With the donations of the screen printing kit, inkjet printer, sublimation ink (for the printer), sublimation paper and heat press machine my students will have the ability to discover all the pros and cons between heat transfer vinyl, screen printing and sublimation printing and how each is transferred onto various substrates (t-shirts, cups, water bottles, hats, etc) through a hands on learning experience.
What makes my students special? I would say it is their desire to expand their knowledge about things not learned in a core class setting, their eagerness to do well, creativity and their positive attitudes. My students will be able to see which process would be the least time consuming, quality substrate transfers (getting a design on to a substrate), and which is most durable/long lasting.
