Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hi Donorschoose,
I am a bilingual teacher in New York City and have a literature program for my students. The program touches on different learning styles. The one style I want to include is visual/audio. We read, write and discuss but the students do not see what they have read in action. For example, we have read about Wolves and Planets in the Solar System, and I would like my 32 students to see the videos I have ordered. These videos are directly in line with what we are reading and writing about, but the videos are in DVD format, and we need a DVD player for the class. As a matter of fact, the whole school doesn't have a DVD player and it would be beneficial if we could have one.
My students are in various learning conditions. Some understand some English while others do not speak any. I feel if my students could see what they are learning it will further their education and enhance what they have learned. A simple DVD player can be a good teaching tool.
