Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students would greatly benefit from the opportunity to use technology in new ways. Many of my students are learning English as a second (or third) language, and most of my students have not had the opportunity to use technology to create academic demonstrations of their learning.
I would love for my students to be able to create digital portfolios that include videos of their class presentations.
I believe that the iPad offers the perfect easy-to-use technology that will enable students to create videos independently. The use of video will allow students to see their own growth over time, and to reflect on their progress, and set goals.
My students will benefit in so many ways from the use of technology in class. Mastering presentation skills is a life skill that will serve them well into the future. I am looking forward to having my students present, and then reflect and grow as a result of the use of video, to capture their thinking and learning.
