My Students
The students I work with have social and emotional challenges that ultimately can have an impact on their learning. I work with them using a variety of methods to help them to improve self-esteem, problem solving skills and emotion control.
My students are good people and I want to do everything I can to help them to be happy and have a good life.
My Project
The Nintendo Switch and accompanying games will be a tool that I will use with students who have social and emotional challenges. Playing video games alongside other students helps students learn many important skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship, communication, taking turns, and accepting defeat. Addressing social skills is a priority now that students are returning to in-person school and video games is a comfortable method that all kids are familiar with.
Video games are a safe and universal tool because it is done from the safety of a classroom or at home and ANYBODY can play.
Today's video game consoles allow students to interact with each other and with others from anywhere via an internet connection. This will be especially useful during this pandemic where stay-at home orders have and may continue to happen where students have not able to interact in person.
