Video Broadcasting- Here We Come!

My students need current technology and video equipment in order to get real-world experiences with video broadcasting. These items will help our classroom set up a space for students to explore the world of film-making!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Third graders in our class community are dynamic, friendly, and very curious. They care about each other and are sensitive to global events and want to make their mark. Each activity we experience together, students are enthusiastic and engaged.

My students have the potential to change the world and I want to expose them to as many opportunities as possible which will inspire them to find their way to do that.

As third graders enter my classroom, they are motivated, self-starters and want to learn more about the community around them.

I have realized that my students have voices and opinions that ought to be heard in today's world of negativity. They want to be personally involved in their community. It is my mission to do ANYTHING I can to guide my students toward becoming positive leaders who support and impact the communities around them.

My Project

This year my students have an exceptional interest in technology. They not only ask questions, but they come back from holidays and weekends with new technology findings and want to share them in class. My students love sharing with anyone who will listen.

I want to give my students the chance to share their stories, their thoughts, and what they've learned- with their classmates, families, community, and the world- through video broadcasting.

My students will quickly learn the steps to record and edit videos and I am confident that they will be begging to share their creations as soon as the box arrives. They have the desire and the confidence to learn how to work with video broadcasting, now we just need the materials.

With the iPads, they will be able to film, record, and edit videos. The lapel microphones will help to pick up clear voices over the many sounds that surround our classroom. And of course, the tripods and tripod adapters are a must with the unsteady hands of 8 and 9 year olds. These supplies will provide everything we need to get a video-broadcasting club up and running at our school!

This project means so much to my class and myself because it will allow students to be part of something that they think exists in a world far from them. It will bring the world into our classroom, and hopefully it will connect my classroom to the rest of the world! Thank you!
