My students need instruments in the classroom that can demonstrate how different sounds are created with different vibrations. All the instruments in the cart will show different ways vibration is created.
The students at my Title I school are eager kids that want to show the world their music abilities. They come to music class ready to dance, sing and learn whatever musical element I want them to know. The students at my school have not had the opportunity to listen to music from different genres and different areas of the world.
My lessons show students how music relates to other disciplines in learning, ie: vibration creates sound (science), music notes and counting (math), reading lyrics (literacy).
I teach at a Title I school where all of the children receive free breakfast and free lunch. There are many students at my school that receive back packs of food to take home over the weekend and we also have a food pantry at our school to benefit our families once a month.
Even with all the challenges that the students experience, the students come to music class eager to learn.
My Project
The instruments that I have in my school are aging and are in need of replacement after many years of repair. I am focusing on STEAM lessons with my students and need to have the instruments in good working order to teach my lessons.
The instruments that I am requesting will assist my students with producing beautiful music while learning about how sound is produced through vibrations.
These instruments all have vibration produced in different ways and I will be able to show the students various ways to produce vibration that will in turn show the students how sound is made.
I love doing lessons that combine different subjects so that students are getting the best of both worlds!!! And in this case they get to produce music while learning science.
