Vibrating Color Compositions inspired by Op-Art and Pop-Art
Help me give my students enough paint to feel free to create the work they envision without wondering if they will have enough!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are incredible curious, thoughtful, insightful and endlessly creative. They will be working collaboratively to create large-scale portraits of public figures they respect and admire using gouache to practice color mixing and theory, and moving onto acrylic paint for their final portraits. Students will explore the possibilities of color and texture by painting on a variety of surfaces and combinations of materials to find the ones that convey the personality of their chosen subject. Students will gain hands-on experience with a variety of tools, application techniques, and will be empowered to work more freely in color.
