My students come from a high poverty neighborhood with a very diverse range of home structures: nuclear, single parent, foster, and migrant, to name a few.
My students love to be at school and enjoy learning, especially when the activities are hands-on.
Many of my students are English Language Learners that attend a public school in the South Central Los Angeles area. They are always excited to experience any kind of technology that I'm able to bring to my class.
According to a new study by Latitude, an international research consultancy, robots can promote new learning and creativity possibilities in children and can offer new opportunities for technologists and educators to tackle common difficulties that kids come across during their learning process. I want these different types of robots to promote creative risk-taking and self-direction and it can improve my students experiences with technology. I am asking for a Vex Robot Construction kit. Students will build the robot after school. The students will use critical thinking to solve any problems they will encounter. Building a robot can be challenging but fun at the same time. They will have so much fun learning during their robotics time. For this robotics time they will build the the Vex robot. They will work in groups of four. It will be an amazing time for my students. They will learn so much and will be prepare for the future in technology. I will also start a Vex Team to compete next school year. It will be a great opportunity.
