This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am SLP and provide services to several special day classes. This past school year I developed lessons targeting functional words with books. I only have 1-2 copies of each book and students share these copies. I have realized that my lessons could be more effective if they each had a copy to follow along with the lessons. My goal is to increase my students' receptive and expressive language.
Each lesson exposes a core word in the book, song, and activities.
The books not only provide children with a model of how the core word is used but give them a visual.
