After reading Peter Liljedahl's book, "Building Thinking Classrooms", last year I was inspired by his "vertical learning" approach to teaching. So I quickly put together make-shift "dry erase boards" using large sheets of cardboard folded in an a-frame and covering them with white board vinyl. While Mr. Liljedahl's approach was very inspiring for my students as well, the boards became well used and not so inspiring to the eye.
I would love to continue this amazing practice of having my students work out complex problems vertically by investing in some portable whiteboards that can easily be stored and reused for more than one year at a time.
