Help me give my students this great math resource! Students use VersaTiles to problem solve with every 4th grade math unit by moving tiles to answer questions, then they can self check their answers.
My kiddos are advanced in science, technology, mathematics, and overflowing with creativity. They have the opportunity to become future leaders. My students especially love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! Albert Einstein said, "Creativity is intelligence having fun."
When students are curious, and excited about using technology, investigation, and collaboration to learn, they deserve a way of learning that gives an equal opportunity to succeed.
My students are composed of different cultural backgrounds and most of them are socioeconomically disadvantaged.
My Project
This is the first year our school is open and I am trying to build math resources to help my students learn using a variety of materials. Last year at my previous campus we used VersaTiles and my students loved them!
Students enjoy using VersaTiles because it's like a game but they are practicing their math skills.
This resources includes workbooks with problems in place value, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication division, geometry and problem solving. Students use a plastic case with tiles in it to answer questions and place them in order then close the case and turn it over to see a pattern. If the pattern matches the one on the page they are working they got the answers correct, if not, they can go back and check their answers.
We used it in several ways: my gifted and talented students worked individually and would race each other, we used it in small group and in stations students worked with a partner to find the correct answers.
