Children are our future, and the ones I teach, certainly make our future look bright!
The students in my Massachusetts classroom are part of a multi-age learning environment.
They are 2nd and 3rd grade students from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, with an even wider range of abilities and interests.
Everyday they are motivated to succeed both in and out of the classroom setting. They follow the workshop model that allows them to work at the level that is right for them, and grow and thrive as readers, writers, and mathematicians!
My Project
This project will provide my students with a wonderful opportunity to develop their mathematical reasoning in a fun and engaging way. The students will be able to work individually, in partners or in groups as they strive to solve complex, rigorous mathematical problems.
Students will be able to self-check their work which allows for immediate feedback and personal growth.
I have used these VersaTiles before and the students absolutely loved them! Seeing how motivated students are to solve correctly is amazing.
Engaging tools like these allow students to be working and focused on math while I am meeting with small groups of other students.
