Versatile Teaching

My Students

Our school serves a great number of students who are English Learners. While struggling with economic and language issues, parents tell their children, "You go to school to learn!" The families are so supportive and appreciative of the education process.

Students in my classroom love reading and learning in general, however, the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly.

We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are a unique group, and I am constantly implementing new ways to keep them engaged and learning.

My Project

My school district will start the school year with Virtual learning. As I prepare for the reopening of school, I am having to "pivot" to meet the needs of my students. The use of versatile teaching tools will enable me to organize the learning environment in my home. With portable magnetic easels, I am able to display charts, and posters and provide instruction to first graders who often needs to see "visuals" as part of their learning.

When students transition back to the classroom setting these versatile teaching tools can be easily transported to the classroom and used with and for students in small groups and in learning stations.

The use of dry erase easels also saves the use of chart paper.
