My students are creative and ask lots of questions. They have a desire to learn new things and challenge themselves. I teach both kindergarten and first grade. These primary grades need lots of hands-on activities.
My students are good at problem solving and not giving up, and they are always looking for new ways to challenge themselves.
They amaze me by how quickly they pick up new concepts and implement them. This year we are using the Blended Learning model in our classroom. They are ready for any new challenge put in front of them. They are determined and are not easily discouraged. As they persevere, they are learning life skills everyday.
My Project
In my classroom this year we are incorporating a learning style classed Blended Learning. This allows students to work at their own pace to master the current skills we are learning.
VersaTiles require students to problem solve and use critical learning strategies to deepen their understanding.
They include a variety of math and literacy activities. They are easily individualized to support different learning needs for each student. They are self correcting. This means that students can easily and independently check their work once it is completed. They are perfect for students working in small groups or independently. They help students to learn regulate and take control of their own learning. These critical thinking activities will be a great extension for students who learn quickly, and reinforcement for students who may need to work more slowly. They will help motivate and encourage all of my students to love learning!
