My Students
A typical day in my classroom starts off with a smile! School is a place where my students feel welcome and loved every day.
My fifth graders come from many different walks of life.
My classroom is composed of a large percentage of students receiving free/reduced price lunch, as well as a variety of backgrounds.
My thoughtful and inquisitive fifth graders come to school excited and eager to learn, despite the challenges of learning through a pandemic. Our classroom is a tight community of learners and enjoy spending it together as "family."
My Project
My students need Literacy Versatiles so they can practice literacy skills in a hands-on, engaging way. Using Versatiles, students use tiles as an answering mechanism to self check their work. If answers are incorrect, students use problem solving to correct their errors. Because of this, using Versatiles promotes autonomy in learning. Versatiles can also be sanitized easily, so kits can be sent home to foster a home to school literacy connection even during distance learning when students may not have access to materials.
Versatiles promote autonomy, differentiation, and are highly engaging.
My students have a variety of educational needs. Using Versatiles allows me to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners at home and at school so they can gain confidence in literacy skills.
