This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Vermicompost bins will allow my students to participate in the process of creating rich black gold soil from school food waste. Students will learn about the below ground food web as red wiggler worms covert organic waste into amazing fertilizer for our school garden.

Composting of school cafeteria waste will enhance lessons in environmental science.

My Title One students will gain a greater understanding of their role in striving towards the creation of a more sustainable campus. Standards related to biodiversity, conservation, zero waste, sustainability, and ecosystems will be taught.
