This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am fortunate to teach one hundred 6th graders in Ventura. Field trips are rare in middle school for our core classes, and I would love to take them to the King Tut exhibit in Los Angeles. My students come ready to learn every day and have loved learning about ancient civilizations. This field trip will be the only opportunity many will have to see such an exquisite exhibit.

After the recent fires, they returned to school with positivity and resilience, even though some have not had a home to return to.

My students include English Language Learners and intervention. They are all great kids.

My Project

This field trip will be the only opportunity many will have to see such an exquisite exhibit. This will be an experience that will bond them to each other and our unit of study: Egypt. Forty percent of these artifacts will leave Egypt for the first, and last, time! A once in a lifetime experience!

What an amazing field trip for them to learn about one of the ancient civilizations of study in an unforgettable format: a field trip.

This is one of the best museums in the world that they may not have visited otherwise. Studying Egypt is a California Standard and what a way to expose these students to the real artifacts they have been learning in their books.
