My Students

The students in my classes are ambitious and hard-working. They have chosen to participate in a Spanish DLI program, meaning they spend half of every day learning in Spanish, even though they are native English speakers. They push themselves to learn new and difficult things every single day!

Eager and enthusiastic, my students continually push themselves to do better.

As ambitious learners of a new language, they need materials that provide visual support and help them focus in class.

My Project

Learning a second language is hard! Reading can be even harder, which is why my students need books that they already know and love to help motivate them when reading in Spanish.

Providing my students with books that are already familiar to them helps them to feel more comfortable as they immerse themselves in the Spanish language.

When they come across parts of the story that they do not already know, they are able to rely on their previous knowledge of the story. This aids their comprehension skills and takes a lot of the pressure off of the daunting task. Little by little, they will gain confidence in their rapidly developing language skills.
