This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 25 five year old Kindergarteners who enjoy exploring and are eager to enter the exciting world of numbers, letters, and words. They love to listen to stories and retelling them. Moreover, playing is important to my students because it is how they learn to explore their senses. They learned best through doing. My students strive to make sense of the bigger world and to make their personal worlds as orderly and safe as possible. They love to try new things, and enjoy inquiry and hands-on tasks. Moreover, they like to organize and sort things.
My Project
I want to be able to provide for my students the supplies and materials that they need for learning in school. School supplies are valuable tools because it helps my students to keep track of their things. The storage boxes are for them to be able to place all their school supplies such as their pencils, erasers, glue sticks, crayons, scissors, and markers together in one place.
I feel that it will keep my students organized and safe from sharing of materials.
The dry-erase boards with lines/blank are for my students to be able to practice writing sentences, and for solving Math problems. It is a great tool for them to engage with the lesson individually and in small groups as well. Furthermore, it helps me to check for understanding.
In addition, the Jumbo Ziploc Bags will be used for protecting my students belongings from touching each other. They will store their coats and bookbags inside the bags. It has a double-zipper closure for secure seal.
