Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach Pre-K students at a Title I campus in Houston. Our parents are loving and supportive of their children. They want their children to have the best education we can provide them. Most of my students are from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
My students need exposure to everything that being in school offers to them.
This is their first time in an educational setting and they are struggling because of the COVID Pandemic.
My Project
I would like to have more Valentine's Day books to read to my class during the month of February. My students love being read to daily and having fiction books that correspond to Valentine's Day would be a fun way to teach concepts to print to my class. I can show them the title of the book, the front and back covers, where we start reading are just a few of the things that Pre-K students need to learn.
I would love for my students to have some Valentine's Day favors for our party.
This year has been stressful and difficult for everyone. I want them to feel love and appreciated for our party.
