Help me give my students a variety of dramatic play items including clothing, a pretend washer and cleaning items, paper dolls and books to help them learn real-world jobs that relate to our clothing and community units.

My Project
I teach at a wonderful school in the San Fernando Valley where more than half of the students qualify for free or reduced lunch.
My students are the youngest in the school and thrive with hands-on items that help them understand our world.
Unfortunately, we are lacking the materials to help my students understand some of our units including clothing and community helpers. The items I have requested will help them role play while they learn about the different jobs and clothing in our community and around the world.
A dramatic play area with a pretend washing machine and ironing board, doll clothes and laundry basket as well as pretend cleaning supplies will help my students understand how we take care of ourselves and our belongings. The paper doll puzzles, community helper vests, and doll clothes will allow for dramatic play while increasing vocabulary and adding to our conversations about the jobs people do and the clothing they wear. Having additional books to read about clothes will also build knowledge and vocabulary for my young students.
Having these items in our classroom will allow my students to use more than their imaginations. They will be able to learn about the world around them with realistic hands-on play.
