This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Center time in school is important for UTK students to have a chance to explore, discover, and learn beginning skills that will take them throughout their entire school career and beyond. Having manipulatives for math, reading, art, and fine motor skills will help students use their hands and their minds to learn, create, and grow. As they rotate to each center they have the ability to work together or on their own while learning how to count to 10, reciting the ABC's, building with blocks, or creating artistic work.
The "Beginning Sounds" learning materials will help students learn the beginning sound of each letter.
This will help them in the process of learning to read. We are also requesting Find & Write CVC Words Activity Center, Play-Doh, Elkonin Boxes for Phonemic Awareness and more! Phonemic Awareness is such a huge part of the UTK curriculum and it has been very successful with students in the past.
