My Project

We often teach our students about Mendelian genetics but they often don't get the chance to have a hands on experience with the topic.

In this lab students get to Students uncover and experience the mechanism of Mendelian genetics with the help of Wisconsin Fast Plants®.

This lab has two parts first a guided investigation, where students germinate the F1 and F2 generations of a population to learn about the inheritance of traits. And an inquiry investigation, students must design an investigation to determine the genotype of an unknown sample of Wisconsin Fast Plants® seed. Kit includes enough materials for 8 groups.
