Help me give my students the necessary tools they need to be successful in a math class environment while working in a small group setting individually or with a teacher.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a robust group of avid learners. They enjoy learning and are motivated to achieve the greatness that I know they embody. This group of students loves asking questions, understanding how things work, and they love the sound of the computer keys clicking away as they research things that excite them. I’d like to extend to them every opportunity to realize their dreams as the world becomes more and more digital and technology-driven. However, without regular access to technology, and the opportunity to develop their creative and thinking critical skills my students are falling behind. I want to give my students the opportunity to reach their potential by being active participants in an ever-changing digital society. I want to incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! I want to give them a chance to be inspired; a chance to seek the answers to the questions they formulate in their brilliant minds. With your help, we can give these students a chance to discover more, learn more, and grow more.
My Project
The materials that I have selected will support my students learning in a small group setting that will strengthen their math skills and also build social interaction among their peers. Students will have the opportunity to workout problem on the whiteboard and support their peer by sharing and discussing how he or she have solved a problem. Students will be able to practice skills independently and collaborate with their peers while the teacher facilitates and have one on one conference with individual students. By donating to this project, you will give my students the liberty to further develop their thinking in an hand-on approach while strategizing possible solutions on how to solve a mathematical problem. The Whiteboard Project will do just that for my students.
