My Project

Many of our students need more knowledge and support of the world around them. Social media can be a dangerous thing to the students in our care and advocating for education on the use of social media, and the effects of social media on future life chapters. Our students need guidance on the world of social media, preparing for their futures, taking career interest inventories, learning what self-confidence is, finding awareness of their self-concept and so much more. These funds will allow for more fulfilling lessons on these topics for our students. My students struggle with WHO they are and HOW they are to develop these aspects. Society places so much pressure on our youth that I feel it is our responsibility to build our students tool chests with the things they need to further understand who they are without adding outside influences such as social media. Many students do not know life without their phones or technology and as a School Counselor I would like to guide these students to see their brilliance, what they have to offer this world, and how bright their futures are. Through proper, engaging and realistic social-emotional lessons I can bring these points to light for our students. Lessons like these provide a ripple affect which ultimate leads to a better learning environment for every student. My students have so much worth and potential. I truly enjoy learning about each student. They really are all so unique.
