Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Technology is a vital tool that can help empower and educate my students who learn differently.
My students come to school ready and eager to learn.
They are faced with daily challenges, and the school is unable to provide all the materials that are needed in order for them to reach their full potential. My students learn differently; because of this reason they were not able to perform well in a general education setting. As a result I try to incorporate technology in my classroom as much as possible.
My Project
Presently, we have access to one tablet only on Fridays. To see them eagerly huddle around this tablet and eagerly access sites for literacy and other topics really tears me apart. Despite our limited access, I am impressed to see how much my students have been learning from the various applications on the tablet. Again, this is all from one tablet one day a week. As a result, I am writing this proposal to request multiple tablets that the students can call their own. These three tablets would greatly improve our learning environment and have a great impact on my special needs students. The tablets offers ebooks, which will allow books to come alive, which will in turn improve their comprehension and speech. Having multiple tablet would also provide my students with the opportunity to practice word study concepts, practice math facts, and even practice letter formation.
Please help my students by providing tablets for our classroom.
Your help will ensure that my students get the materials they need to become better learners. My students and I would be very grateful for your commitment to learning and to special needs students.
