My Students
My students are bright, hardworking, and love to learn!
Many of my students are English language learners.
The majority of them are from low-income households, and many were impacted or displaced by Hurricane Harvey. In fact, many in our community are still facing the impact of this storm many months later. In spite of this, their resilient spirit shines bright every day! They love to work together in groups, and learn best when they are given the opportunity to be creative and help each other learn difficult concepts.
My Project
My students would greatly benefit from Chromebooks so that they have computer access in the classroom to many early learning programs that focus on Phonics, Reading Fluency, and Math Facts.
These Chromebooks would be such a vital tool for to help the students who are struggling in these areas, and will enable those who are excelling in these areas to be pushed to their fullest potential.
These tools also enhance my ability to differentiate my instruction in such a way as to allow students extra time to practice exactly the skills that they need.
Since many of these children do not have these tools at home, or even access to them in the community since our public library is not currently open due to Hurricane Harvey, these Chromebooks are so important to give them the tools that they need to succeed.
