Using Technology to Improve Reading

My students need ten Samsung Galaxy tablets and five Lenovo Chromebook laptop computers to improve their reading skills. It is very important to integrate technology in reading so that students will be able to have more interest in reading and access programs available.

My Students

My students are special because they are loving and caring to each other. They are willing to learn and take pride in whatever they do. All of my students are unique in their different ways.

The majority of my students are from a military family.

They move from different places on a regular basis. My students go through the struggles of missing a family member for a long period of time because of deployment. It hurts to see my students go through these phases at times.

My Project

These requested ten Samsung Galaxy Tablets and five Lenovo Chromebook laptop computers will make a difference in my students' learning as they will access programs using the internet to help improve their reading skills. The students have access to reading programs such as IReady, Scootpad, Mr. Nassbuam, and Kahoot but need these devices to utilize these programs.

Getting these tablets and laptops will definitely help them to be a proud reader and improve in ELA.

The devices will also be utilized when doing rotations( small grouping) in the classroom as students will be able to use them to do whatever task is assigned to them. Students will be able to have differentiated instruction to meet their particular needs and learning styles.
