My Students

Teaching in a low-income community is tough. Students are often faced with coming to school hungry, not having the support to get homework or projects completed, or not having basic school supplies. Making sure that these students feel safe and helping to make them see the value of a good education is the most important part of my job. Knowing that I can provide this to these students is what keeps me going every day and what makes me strive to be the best I can be to these students. Having grown up in a similar community, I know first hand what my students face every day.

My Project

Whenever our students are allowed to come back to the classroom for in-person instruction, each student will need their own technology since sharing supplies is not recommended by the CDC. If each student has their own laptop, my students will be able to easily access the online components of the curriculum without having to worry about how to disinfect the technology before another student can use it. This will save time and will allow the students to work more safely in the classroom by eliminating some of the possibility of spreading COVID.
