This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love math and I want my students to love it too! I want them to see how math is part of their lives. Most of my students are multilingual learners; their families came from poor countries looking for better opportunities. Most of my students' parents did not have the chance to experience formal education and they want their children to have the opportunity of a good education.

Math is a universal language and most of the times is easier for children who are learning grade level content at the same time they are learning English.

I want my students to experience success in math so they can believe in themselves and persevere in all subjects in school.

My students are learning multiplication and division for the first time in their lives. These games and flashcards will create a fun way to memorize multiplication tables and become fluent in multiplication and division. Learning should be a fun and meaningful experience to all children. Students from under-resourced schools like ours should also have the opportunity to a happy and effective school experience.
