Help me give my students a fun way to learn and enjoy reading.

In today's uncharted world of quarantines and virtual learning, students will be entering a classroom environment facing more challenges than ever before. Without the advantage of being in a learning situation which includes having a teacher and fellow classmates present in the room, it becomes imperative that the instructor finds new creative ways to stimulate their curiosity and desire to learn. I have found a tremendous resource that students enjoy are the Scholastic Scope Magazines.
An argument can be made that the most critical subject that must be mastered by the students going forward is that of ninth grade English where lessons in reading and composition are critical to the long range success of the student.
A large number of my students fall below the poverty line and while they may be lacking in supplies, they have no shortage of ideas, interests and curiosities that demand their attention. The Scholastic Scope Magazines present content designed to introduce a variety of subjects including current events and topics that the young learners can relate thereby enhancing their confidence and skills in reading and composition that will become great assets to them going forward.
My goal is to provide my students with Scholastic Scope Magazines because it introduces them to subjects, stories and current events in an entertaining and colorful way that stimulates their curiosity by using language that they can understand.
Reading and writing can be intimidating to people of all ages, especially if one is not familiar with the subject.
In school, students can occasionally become so hesitant towards reading and writing to the point that they don't participate to their fullest. I would like to furnish a fun way for them to overcome that fear.
