My Project
Trauma can significantly hinder the learning process by causing difficulties in concentration, memory retention, and information processing. It can lead to decreased motivation and hinder social interactions, impacting overall cognitive development. Recognizing trauma and implementing appropriate strategies, such as providing a supportive environment and tailored interventions, can help individuals overcome these barriers and regain control over their educational journey.
Play therapy has shown a positive impact on students with trauma, providing a safe and non-threatening environment for them to explore and express their emotions.
Through play, children can process and make sense of their traumatic experiences, leading to increased emotional regulation and resilience. Play therapy also promotes social skills development, enhances self-esteem, and improves overall well-being, fostering a positive path toward healing and academic success. The toys, books, and other tools in this project will help support my play therapy sessions with all of my younger students.
