Help me give my students the opportunity to learn successfully both in school and virtually with a document camera and headphones with microphones that will provide the clarity they need as I teach them daily.
I teach third grade and my classroom full of students have shown excitement from day one to be in school daily learning and growing academically, socially and emotionally. With the transition from 2nd grade to 3rd, they are excited to be more responsible with their learning, as well. Even though they have some hard memories with education so close to the forefront of their memory, they show such positivity and courage each day as we engage on our learning journey. They are not afraid to try something new and stretch their way of tackling the tasks in 3rd grade. My students cease to amaze me with their perseverance through new, and sometimes difficult concepts, and especially through the unknown conditions of the world today!
My Project
This project will help my students this year, and years to come, learn both in person and virtually, since we live in a time where we're not sure how we will be delivering our lessons each day. The learning that will take place because of these two items touch on three areas of our five senses: sight, hearing, and touch. The headphones with microphones will provide each student with the tools necessary to access and complete their learning in every subject area as they tie in to successful tools using their hearing and also being able to speak to complete an assignment or task. The document camera will provide my class clarity with lessons as I teach them whether that be at school or virtually. The camera needs to provide a clear picture of what I am doing so each student will not only pay attention and keep engaged in the learning process but also allows me a means to teach new concepts, highlight assignments, showcase student work or display manipulatives or diagrams in a way that all can see. The document camera will tie in to a students sight as they are able to see clearly what I'm teaching and what is expected and also, their touch as they are able to use it to work and showcase manipulatives. This will be helpful whether we are learning at school where they can visually see me use it or as a means to project my lessons virtually through a device.
