Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are eager to learn new things and they are so excited about learning new things especially when using technology. Can you imagine the excitement by fifth graders will feel when they learn to balance a check book for the first time?

I have 50 eager and exited to learn firth graders.

They attend a Title I school that work hard to ensure them the education that they need to compete successfully in today's society. Many are from single parent households or live with grandparents. They have very limited access to technology in the home. So, using technology to study economics will open up a new and exiting world for them.

My Project

My students will use the Apple iPad to do research on economics. They will learn the steps to opening a savings account, balancing a checkbook and computing the interest earned on a savings account. They will also do comparison shopping to find the best buy and to find unit prices.

By donating to my project, you will give my students a chance to study economics for the first time and they will understand their importance in today's economics.

They will learn to save and spend their money wisely.
