This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We work with a diverse and underserved part of the population. Our students are 80% minority and 70% are on a free and reduced lunch program.

But these obstacles do not get in the way for our students.

And these students are the future of this community. Our students will become the leaders of tomorrow.

Our students have grit and a drive to solve problems; they deserve a shot at a meaningful education. This training will help me do that.

My Project

We are starting a business and entrepreneurship program in our school to guide students in developing an entrepreneurial mindset based on solving real-world problems. A cornerstone of the program is the Design Thinking process.

When I am better able to guide students to a perspective of empathy when they tackle solving real problems in their community, our students will not only be more successful, they will emerge as the next generation of leaders in their community.

Our program will have them working with the local business community on such problems actively pursuing meaningful and implementable solutions. Thanks for your help.
