Using Chrome to Strike Gold in Technology

My students need a class set (9) of Chromebooks to bring technology into our classroom. The usage of the Chromebooks will allow my students to enjoy interactive activities and be motivated to learn.

My Students

The students in my school district are a high at-risk population. My school is located on a residential treatment facility which is the home to most of our troubled adolescents. My students are emotionally and learning disabled. We also have a number of day students who have have had little to no success in a traditional school, due to history of neglect, abuse, behavior problems and other trauma. Most of my students have extremely poor academic attitudes and success, due to the lack of support in their lives.

I would like to change that!

Because of my students' disadvantages, getting them motivated and engaged in lessons can be very challenging. I believe every student has the potential to be successful and I would like to give my students the best experiences and most opportunities to enable them to believe in themselves, their abilities, and to be successful in high school and life.

"Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anybody can start today and make a new ending." I would like to help my students create their new ending.

My Project

Bringing Chromebooks into my classroom is sure to improve student engagement, creativity, and curiosity. By replacing my “traditional” textbook lessons with more innovative and exciting activities, found on a numerous variety of applications, will enhance my students’ progress. My students will be excited to come to class knowing that they will be learning something new through the use of chromebooks.

Can’t wait to see the excitement on their faces!!!!!!

Programs such as Google Classroom will allow me to create lessons and activities for my students, which will save a lot of time and paper. Other applications such as Kahoot!, Quizziz and IXL are great programs to assess student performance.
