My students are the most creative, intelligent group of students you will meet. They bring joy to my classroom each day and I make sure their learning environment is inviting and engaging for them. My students attend a Title I school and many come from low-income families.
Despite the challenges in their home life, my students strive each day to beat the odds and not let what they lack deter them from achieving their goals.
Each day I let them know how much I care for and how I am rooting for them. They are the highlight of my day and I want to help them succeed in every way possible.
My Project
I have created this project to help my students excel above and beyond what they initially feel that they can accomplish. I use my chess club to teach the game and help my students gain confidence and build on their critical thinking skills. I will use the snacks to feed the children because we just don't know how good or bad things really are at home. The snacks will also entice more children to join the club which will aid in keeping them out of the streets and out of trouble.
