This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Art is a natural expression for students. They’re very open and ready to engage with it. Art really helps build that sense of self and emotional expression. For this project, I am requesting, books to guide students on how to draw. I want students to be able to focus on self-regulation, soothing, or relaxation through painting or drawing,
Students who use the artistic process to help cope with challenges and things they’re facing in their lives will help strengthen their sense of self.
Giving students this strategy at a young age will hopefully help them be stronger as they move through adolescence and into adulthood, and be more able to develop good mental health and coping skills. Thank you for taking the time to read my project, I hope it sparked your interest!
