Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
What? An environmental challenge? That's how our students see the world. They know that by researching and beginning to understand our earth and its inhabitants, they can make a difference. They know they must keep researching all of the environmental topics so they can work on being green.
The students at our public elementary school come from all different types of backgrounds.
At our school, each student understands the importance of keeping the earth clean. All of the fifth graders in our class are becoming involved in this year's Disney Planet Challenge. They keep reminding us everyday as to what can -- and can not be recycled. These kids are an amazing bunch of kids who plan on making this earth a better place to live.
My Project
Just by having an iPod Touch in the classroom, the students can begin using the educational apps to continue learning about our environment. The iPod will also help the students prepare for this year's Disney Planet Challenge by allowing them to create a Podcast that can be shared with the other students at our school. It is important that we keep all of our students involved in this journey towards completing the Disney Challenge and creating a recycling system. By having an iTunes card, they will be able to purchase the apps that they will need to continue this quest. The books, DVD, and magazine subscriptions that are included in this project will also help them on their clean-earth journey. With the books and magazines, they can continue to investigate the science and social studies aspect of how our world has changed. The "Dig-It" magazine will help them uncover the past of this great land. All of the items on this project will help our fifth graders continue learning.
It is so important to keep our students involved in the science curriculum.
They have discovered that they can make a difference. By having this project, we can keep putting new ideas into their minds. We will find them moving from recycling our room, to putting a recycling system throughout the school. Your donation can help them do this. They are motivated to implement a recycling system and want to fulfill their Disney Planet Challenge dream!
